Uncle Sam Wants You

to come to Ohio. We came to Ohio to have fun, visit family and to see Uncle Sam off on his mission. I have pictures from several things we did while we were there but there's a handful of pictures that just don't quite fit into a nice narrative. So, here are some somewhat random pictures from our trip.

Marc spent the first weekend in Ohio with his brother Robert and his friends Ben and Ben for an annual event they call "nerball conference" in which they get together and do extremely nerdy things. This is at a Cincinnati Reds game.

Grandma bought alphabet pretzels for the boys. We found this message one morning and learned that it was made by David John. We couldn't believe that he spelled "miracles" correctly and that he knew what a pun was. I think it should probably read, "Dads do miracles and puns." That seems fitting.

Elijah clearly raided Uncle Sam's room for this awesome outfit.

These boys got to hang out with both sets of their living great grandparents. Here they are with Great Grandma and Grandpa Sherwood. Of course, some of them couldn't resist pulling faces.

And here they are with their Great Grandma and Grandpa Aday.

Of course, we can't forget the man himself. This was the evening that Sam was set apart as a missionary.

Sam is super excited to head out to the deserts of Tucson, Arizona.

Another exciting feature of our Ohio visit was the fact that Uncle Matt, Aunt Gina and cousin Evelyn were there. Gabriel loved to feed her, watch her, play with her and read to her.

The boys were big fans of Uncle Matt.

Evelyn is not sure about sharing the spotlight for her official seven month photo shoot. Benjamin is not sure about this holding babies thing.

Dang they look cute together. Too bad they're related.

Tobias was a little jealous of Marc holding Evelyn.

On one of our last days we took the four older boys to King's Island to ride the rides. They LOVED it. Marc and I switched off going with the younger two and the older two so we could ride some of the bigger rides. David John and Benjamin are happy in their race care. Some of the kiddie rides were pretty awesome.

The Charlie Brown log ride was one of the only things we all rode together. I love this picture. They had SO much fun and it was so nostalgic for me. I will always be a fan of The Beast and King's Island. The boys say we absolutely need to come back.

While we were at King's Island, Tobias had a big day with Grandma and Bapa. He sure loves them.
